The Old Library
Dartmouth, South Devon
Luxury Holiday Home
The Old Library must be one of the most extraordinary holiday homes we’ve featured. Designed and furnished to the very highest standards and located in the heart of Dartmouth on the South Devon coast.
The two-storey accommodation has been extensively remodeled in conjunction with Cheltenham-based Focus Interior Design to offer a luxurious retreat for two couples or a young family in a central location.
The property is set at the end of Newcomen Road and within a very short, mostly level, walk of the historic naval town of Dartmouth.
Beautifully furnished throughout, on the ground floor are two boutique double bedrooms, both imaginatively and luxuriously decorated.
The master bedroom has a King-size bed, Juliet balcony, and en suite bathroom, whilst the similarly furnished second bedroom is not en suite but has an adjacent shower room.
While The Old Library is more suited to two couples, there is also a single bedroom, this more ideally suited to a young adult rather than a child. Please note it not an especially long bed.
Stairs spiral up to the open plan living accommodation, ‘The Captain’s Galley’ on the first floor.
This spacious and elegant area has a nautical theme and offers a wonderful environment for relaxing or entertaining, with an elegant kitchen, delightful dining area and comfortably furnished sitting room.
An annual parking pass is provided for the Mayors Avenue public car park 5-7 minutes walk away (subject to available spaces) for one car.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon.
It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta.
There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham.
